Business Management Competence since 1963

The chair of economics and business management (WBW) was founded at the Montan University Leoben in 1963. Since 2003 it forms the WBW department – together with the Chair of Industrial Logistics. As such, the WBW department complements the research profile of the University in Leoben with its core competencies along the value chain from raw material to the finished product. In line with the strategic positioning of the Montan University, the department contributes to the development of students' management skills and business know-how, as well as excellent research in the field of techno-economics. The WBW department has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996 and was awarded the Austrian Quality Award (1999) and the Speyer Quality Award (2002).
